Show picture by depending buttons

    Hi guys,

    I’m new to WordPress programming and web-creation.
    Therefore I need help:

    I want to show a picture by three depending buttons.
    For explanation:
    I can choose out of three different colors on three different surfaces of an object.
    Every time, I press a button (should be a color at the end) for a specific surface, an action should start and the picture with the new chosen color should appear right next to the buttons.
    There are two links to pictures I made for my problem:
    Picture 1
    Picture 2
    The cross on every box shows the pressed button (color).

    I already read a lot about doing it by JavaScript but I didn’t get it running.
    Maybe there’s already a plugin for that and I wasn’t able to find it.
    So if anybody knows a easy way to get it running please tell me.
    The remaining page is all set up, there I don’t need further help, only for the scripting to always get the color I chose.

    What ?
    You want the big picture to display the colour that the user click on the left?
    That’s it ?

    not quite, but nearly.
    Let’s say I have a table and the surface is divided in three parts.
    For every part the user can choose a color on the left not depending on another surface color.
    And every time a user choose a color the picture should be updated.

    thanks for help, I had a few discussions with an external web developer and we got it to work with javascript and a few buttons.
