Shortcodes stop working when NextGallery plugin activated

I reported this earlier, not sure where.
I just upgraded the plugin to the latest version (2.0.40) and my problem still exists. When editing a page, I cannot use some of my theme shortcodes (tabbed content, toggles, and some others) while the plugin is activated. If I deactivate it all works well.

The Pro version works just fine, except that I need the free version to work with it.

I have tested with deactivating all other plugins and this is the only one causing the issue.

I am expected to launch Dec. 1-4 and would appreciate getting resolution for this issue.
