• Hi there, I am currently running the Lucid Press theme, though so far the support from the creator has been pretty poor with no response to issues in over two weeks and I am still unable to continue with my site.

The theme has a short code generator so that when selecting a created page, certain things can be added to the page such as fancy headings, social media buttons, pricing tables and so on. When selecting one of the options from the drop down, it changes the tools below to suit, then enabling you to add to the page. These tools have now disappeared and the short code generator has completely stopped working, meaning any progress with my business site has come to a complete halt.

I’d appreciate any help that you may be able to give me as I have currently hit a complete brick wall.

    Thanks

  • Unfortunately, there’s not much anyone here can do to help — as these forums don’t support commercial themes, partly because they are not freely available for testing or use.

You could try deactivating any plug-ins you are using to see if one or more might be causing the problem.

Or if it’s possibly related to the recent update to WP3.5, this thread may be helpful:

Many thanks indeed, at least I now know what the issue is. It was getting so annoying just not knowing at all. I think it is certainly the update to 3.5 which is causing some kind of conflict or issue. Unfortunately I am far from an expert with wordpress and have been muddling through trying to get my business website set up, hence the requirement of the theme, as such even reading the link I am very confused about how I can fix the issues.

If I switch to a different theme and back to the one I am currently using, I don’t lose any of the work I have done in setting the site up do I?

I suppose in my lack of knowledge, I am just worried I am going to mess up settings or something and lose the work I’ve done.

Realising now, after some research that I am not the only one experiencing these difficulties…..
It seems the only logical solution is to bin 3.5! Now to work out how……

Ah, no. 3.5 was in beta for 4 months; theme and plugin authors had lots of time to get ready.

Your problem is obviously the theme.

Page/post content is in the database; switching to a different theme won’t delete it.

According to the website where the theme was purchased from, it states that it supports 3.5. Their support is just extremely slow unfortunately and getting me nowhere.

I’ve read somewhere I can revert to the previous version using FTP somehow. I think I will have to go down this route. My site was working perfectly and from what I’ve read so far, there are more issues than perks of 3.5 and it is letting people down, left right and center.
