Shortcode implementation not formatting correctly.

I’ve just updated to the latest version of TWP and due to a change in my site layout have gone from a widgetized sidebar to an in page shortcode implementation of the plugin.
The problem is that none of the formatting settings are having any effect on the way the plugin displays on the page, either when set within the plugin settings or when entered directly within the shortcode.
For example I have set the plugin to display 3 posts within the settings and have also added items=”3″ to the shortcode, however the plugin is still displaying the default 10 posts.
It would also appear that none of the plugin’s css is working (it is not displaying frames of avatars etc) and it is defaulting to the standard page css when displaying posts.
Any ideas?
