Shortcode for Download URLs

    Is it at all possible to use shortcodes in place of file URLs for downloadable products?

    I have written some shortcode to interact with Rackspace’s via their API that generates a temp. URL. I would like this URL to be where the customer downloads the file from.

    I have been able to get my shortcode to work if I have WooCommerce Amazon S3 Storage plugin activated. I do not use the Amazon shortcode but my own. I do feel that this is not optimal as I really don’t think I should need the S3 plugin just to have my shortcode work.

    There has to be some way that I can use this shortcode to generate the URLs no?
