Hope you are all doing well! I am facing an issue with MailChimp shortcodes.

I am using MailChimp for WP plugin to create a form and I have added the shortcode to my page by using Classic Mode to place it exactly where I want it to be. However, although it seems to show fine immediately after placing it, it does end up disappearing after a very short while. The shortcode itself that I have place appears to be no longer there anymore. Am I doing something wrong?

I am using the latest version of WordPress and the latest version of the plugin.

Please advise! Appreciate all your responses and help in resolving this issue.

    Hi,

This doesn’t sound like normal WordPress behavior.

Maybe some caching issue going on, or a compatibility issue with another plugin, mayeb a security plugin?

Do other shortcodes of other plugins work, or do they disappear as well?

With “Classic” mode you mean you add the shortcode in Text mode and then it’s gone when you switch back to visual mode?

    Thanks for letting us know,

Hello! Thank you so much for your reply.

It’s not disappearing immediately after I switch back to visual mode, it does stay there for quite a while but for example if I login the next day I would most probably not find it as that has been the case.

Regardless of that, I have had some confusion on how exactly to use the plugin and I would really appreciate it if you would clarify them for me. I’ve created and added a form that just has two simple fields (Name – Email) and a sign up button. However after pressing on the sign up button, I do not get the successful sign up message but instead I get redirected to another page that gives me the 404 error even though I have specified that I do not wish for any redirection in the plugin settings.

I’m very confused, have I not configured it correctly? Because I am still getting an email asking for confirmation for sign up, thus I don’t understand why it keeps taking me to a new broken page. Kindly help me resolve this issue.

I think another plugin, or your theme is capturing the submit, instead of letting our plugin handle it.

Some themes/plugins do this to provide Ajax functionality for any form.

Your websites just shows me “Coming soon” so I couldn’t test it to tell you exactly what plugin causes the issue.

    Hope that helps!

    Kind regards,

    Hello,

Thanks again for your reply. I’ve found out that it is being removed whenenver I make any edits to the page, however if I add it after edits then it will remain there so I suppose that problem is solved.

However as for the redirection problem, I will contact my theme support to make sure there is nothing interfering with the plugin. If that does not work out I will inform you once again of the result and hopefully we can resolve this issue.

Kindly be advised that my client has requested I show the “Coming Soon” page, however I would gladly disable it for a short period of time so that you can get the chance to find out exactly what is going wrong. Please advise during what time you would like me to disable it so you can have a look at it.

    Thank you so much!
