Shortcode – Dear User Firstname

    Hi there
    My site is for ‘Communication: A small, internal WordPress site and use it to alert staff of new posts or comments.’

    I’m using the shortcode [user_firstname] at the start of the notice that should say, for example Dear John (the first name of the user the email is going to). But in all emails it pulls in the first name of the site administrator.

    I’ve tested all the shortcodes but it’s the admin data it’s pulling in. Does any of the shortcodes pull in the registered recipient user data?

    I’ve no other plugins
    Theme: Twenty Fifteen
    BNW – Version 1.3.5

    Hi Tony,
    Thanks for your message.

    The shortcodes relating to Users as part of the new post / page notification will show the details of the original post author.

    Transactional and global shortcodes are on my roadmap but they’re a little way off yet.
