Shipping with paypal?

Is there a way to set up the actual paypal account to add the shipping while I wait for the plugin to add a shipping feature? If not, do you know if I deactivate my shopping cart plugin, will I lose all the products I have loaded into? Or will they simply be there when I reactivate it?
