    Hi

Not sure if i’m missing something obvious here, but I can’t find a way to prevent the Updraftplus settings from being overridden when I import the database from my local development site to my live site (both sites are copies of each other).

I’ve tried various scenarios to fix this:

    • If I delete the Updraftplus plugin on my local site, then export the database and import it to my live site, all the settings in my live site are reset to the default settings.
    • If I deactivate the plugin on my local site, then export the database and import it to my live site, the plugin is then deactivated on my live site

Is there any way to keep the plugin installed on both sites without settings from one site overriding settings on the other site when the database is pushed and pulled between them? I would have the settings the same on both sites, but I can’t as I can’t use the same Google Drive Client ID and Secret on both sites according to your instructions.

Apologies if i’m missing something obvious here!

    Many thanks
    Caroline

Is this using the paid Migrator add-on? If so, then unfortunately, WordPress.org rules don’t allow commercial queries to be dealt with on their website – https://codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome#Commercial_Products – so please post here instead: https://updraftplus.com/paid-support-requests/

    Best wishes,

    Hi David

No, this is just using the free Updraftplus plugin. I export and import the WordPress database myself. There seems to be no way to prevent the settings in my local site from being applied to my live site when I do this, and every time the settings on my live site are deleted, as are all the previous backups, and I have to import the settings from the json file I saved. It’s very frustrating. Any advice would be really welcome.

    Thanks
    Caroline
