this is a gorgeous simple plugin! with the kinks worked out it could be amazing for people who don’t want to bother with the big ones

    • installed this plugin, checked all the default settings
    • checked some other boxes like mailto links, changed the retention to 365
    • click save
    • navigate out of the plugin to another area of wp-admin
    • go back to zenmarkup analytics settings
    • all the settings are unchecked, retention is set to 7 days again etc

Conclusion: this plugin is not saving the settings

PS: This behavior seems to occur when I turn on email reports, click save, this action seems to be what is clearing out ALL the other settings!

Thanks for the detailed report. I’ll look into this and check what’s causing the settings to reset, especially when Email Reports are enabled.

I’ll update this thread once I have more information.

    Hi James,

Thank you again for the incredibly detailed report and the exact steps to reproduce the issue!

You were absolutely right. The issue was caused by how WordPress processes settings across different tabs. Because all settings were grouped together, saving options on one tab (like Email Reports) would inadvertently clear out the settings on the other tabs because their fields weren’t present on the screen at that moment.

I’ve just released version 1.2.6 which fixes this bug completely. Each tab now saves independently, so your retention settings and checkboxes will stay exactly as you left them.

Thanks for helping make the plugin better! Please let me know if you run into any other issues.
