Settings in clustered environment

What is the recommended method for keeping the W3TC configuration in sync across clustered servers without a shared mount point (i.e. NFS)? As previously previously noted, the configuration is written to files in /wp-content/w3tc/, even if DISALLOW_FILE_MODS is set to true.
