Setting Up FTP Credentials with Amazom Linux ec2

I have my site loaded and running, but want to upload a new Theme and my FTP credentials are wrong and it will not allow me to edit them.

What I get:

To perform the requested action, WordPress needs to access your web server. Please enter your FTP credentials to proceed. If you do not remember your credentials, you should contact your web host.

Note: I have been successful at setting up SFTP into my account using my public DNS, my ec2-user and no password(Using KeyPait). However, doing simple uploads while in WordPress is looking for a password and not allowing ec2-user or root connection.
