Setting Featured Category (3 columns)

    Richie. I still cannot figure out how to go to three columns (setting a featured category). I assume I’m looking at the wrong place.

    FAQ says:

    How to setup homepage grid like the demo?
    – go to wp-admin->appeareance->theme options->homepage featured setting->choose category to featured

    When I go to appearance, theme options. Then I scroll down to “home settings” and I see Homepage featured category 1 to 10 (I do not see “homepage featured setting” as FAQ says).

    When I click on any of the 10 “choose a categories” I see only three options: Nivo slider, slider, uncategorized.

    I do not see a category called “featured” to choose…. and indeed “featured is not one of the available categories of the posts.

    do you have other existed category in wp-admin->posts->category?
    except for the three category you mention.

    try create a new category and apply to one of your post and re-check the selection dropdown in featured category theme option.

    Thanks Richie. The three were all the categories there. As you suggested, I did create a new category and applied to a post. No luck. In the drop down for homepage featured category 1-10, the three category plus the new category that I just created. That’s all. Did not work, no category called “featured”.

    Just a mote that I have added buddypress ad bbpress plugins. Should I deactivate them?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    then its working fine. the new category you created are showing.

    you need to create a ‘featured’ category for a ‘featured’ category to exist or show, it is not exist by default.

    Thanks Richie, I was going to start this new topic as i was also using MesocColumn but found it out before getting started. 🙂
