Sets of tags

Does anyone know if there is a plugin that will allow you to have sets of tags?

I have posts which feature different sculptures, and I’m using the tags to identify their year, material and main colour. I would like to have a set of tags for their year, another for the material, and another for the colours, so that it’s easier for visitors to sort through the sculptures.

Right now, the tags are all jumbled together, and I’m using a plugin to allow users to select multiple tags.

I would prefer the tags to show like this:

Year
2008 2007 2006 etc

Colour
red white green blue pink etc

Material
soapstone alabaster

I’ve searched for a plugin that could do this, but haven’t been able to find anything. Does anyone know if this exists or if it’s possible?
