Set up Custom Redirect URL Not Working

    I have set up a Custom URL to redirect to when a certain URL is requested on the web, seemed to work initially, but now it is not working.

    I have had several web initialed URL’s which are none existent on the WP site, using your plugin i have created a Custom Redirect, when i look at the error log they are shown as not being redirected to the custom URl but to the default, which is wrong.

    However the page request is being redirected to the correct page set in the Custom URl.

    This should not happen

    Hi John,

    Yes. Actually the issue is when the duplicate 404 errors are being logged. I have noticed this few days before and will be fixing this by next version 🙂

    OK,

    But still getting a considerabel amount of log entires so i am disabling this feature until the problem is resolved as i am not clear on what is happening at present, and am concerned about the experience of visitors to the site.

    Hello,

    I cannot use the original site now as it is live, but will try on another smaller installation and let you know.

    But i have not used github before what am i looking for to download? is there 1 single file please?

    OK,

    I have installed the plug in and configured it to redirect on 404 to a customer URL which i have specified as the home page.

    If i try to access a page that i snot on the web site, i get a 404 error logged bu there is no redirected page displayed i just get a blank screen.

    If i go to the error log page and set the page via the Customization option on that page, where i set the home page again, when i try to access the page that does noy exist i get the standard Wp Opps 404 page displayed. When i look in the log for these events it shows that it has redirected to the home page, which it has not.

    ref my last response please read this update

    I retried the following :
    If i go to the error log page and set the page via the Customisation option on that page, where i set the home page again, when i try to access the page that does not exist i get the standard Wp Opps 404 page displayed. When i look in the log for these events it shows that it has redirected to the home page, which it has not.

    When i re tried the above process, instead of the standard WP Opps 404 message i now get a Browser displayed message indicating that the page cannot be found.

    Hi John,

    Can you deactivate the plugin and check how 404 pages are being displayed?
