    Hello, great plugin, love it!

How can we set a delay to send newsletters on post? I have a user submitted post site. When someone posts there is a large delay after clicking submit/post because the plugin goes to work immediately emailing subscribers. I would like to set a delay of say 30 seconds before the post is submitted. Does that make sense?

    Thanks!

  • Hi lazyym,

Hope you are doing great. 🙂

I am afraid I didn’t understand it properly, what do you mean by saying “When someone posts there is a large delay after clicking submit/post because the plugin goes to work immediately emailing subscribers.” did you mean that the emails are sending late or at the same moment?

If you want the emails to be sent after the delay of say 30 seconds you may refer to https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-delay-posts-from-appearing-in-wordpress-rss-feed/ for more information.

Please do have a recheck and let me know your views.

I want email subscribers to wait 30 seconds or so before emailing subscribers so my classifieds plugin can finish posting first. That doesn’t seem to be stopping it from beginning the email process immediately for email subscribers. I have over 1000 subscribers. When a member clicks PUBLISH LISTING in the wpadverts plugin to post a classified ad, there is a large delay. When I check my email log, even with this function added, your plugin still begins sending emails immediately.

    Hi lazyym,

In that case, there is a workaround. You can set CRON to send your emails at a certain time. Please refer to this documentation for further information https://www.icegram.com/documentation/es-how-to-schedule-cron-emails/

    Hope this helps you.

I’ll leave with the suggestion of the ability to set a delay time. Thanks

I’ve set up an hourly cron. Is there a setting to turn off send emails immediately somewhere and to use cron instead? I don’t see a “use cron” check box anywhere…..

I now find it in post notifications. When I edit the single existing notification “Select Notification Status when a new post is published” that has worked for years NOT on cron, when I try to select use cron, I get an error to select email subject and they are empty……

I’ve sent a support ticket to your site. Something is wrong…..

    Hi, @lazyym,

It seems like you have marked this thread as resolved and as you mentioned that you sent us a support ticket, we will take care of the issue there.
