set default post type

    I always use a custom post type for my posts is there a way to set my post type as default so I don’t have to keep putting in my post type before the subject? I always use the link format.. I just want to send my posts and it automatically sets the format to ‘link’

    There isn’t a setting for default post format at the moment. It is on the list and I’ll try to do it in the next couple of weeks.

    1.5.4 has a setting for default post format.

    This request was for a default custom post type, but you have a default post format – aren’t they 2 different things?

    I also need a default custom post type. Not format.

    They are 2 different things, WordPress is heading towards post format.

    You say you are using a “link” post type, but link is a post format.
