Server Question (Database Error due to Traffic)

    So I’m getting a traffic surge right now. Site is flaking out *a lot* with the “Error establishing a database connection” ….

    What’s odd, however, is that we have a very fancy server (supposedly) and all the W3 cache stuff turned on. Also it’s not just me, the logged in user who sees it. The random visitor is seeing the site skunked too.

    Could this be a server optimization thing? An actual data base problem?

    Anyone know what the typical culprit ought to be?
