• I am in a desparate situation,as anybody who visits my site and try to place an order, the system adds horrible shipment charges, for example £337 for a small parcel 250g !!! This happens for several months now ,what I have done is have deactived any plug it is related to shipment etc but unknown if it will change anything…As I have lost all of my potential customers-anybody facing this ridiculous situation will leave my webpage running-the next step is to close it down after more than 10 years in operation…Iam convinced that this is NOT my fault but every time problems are poping up which have to solve by ourselves….thank you.

    Hi @symkrilag!

I can understand how concerning it must be to see unexpectedly high shipping charges affecting potential orders.

To help us better understand what is happening, could you please provide a few additional details?

    • Which shipping method(s) are you currently using (for example, Flat Rate, Free Shipping, Local Pickup, or a shipping plugin/carrier integration)?
    • Are the excessive shipping charges appearing for all destinations or only for specific countries/regions?
    • Could you share screenshots of your shipping zone and shipping method settings under WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping?
    • If possible, please provide a screenshot of the cart/checkout page showing the £337 shipping charge for a test order.

Since shipping calculations can be affected by shipping zones, shipping methods, product weights, dimensions, or third-party shipping plugins, these details will help us narrow down the cause.

Also, I’d like to understand your site properly. Please share with us the necessary information below for us to investigate the issue further:

    • System Status Report which you can find via WooCommerce > Status
    • Fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

Please use https://pastebin.com/ or https://gist.github.com/ and share a link to that paste in reply here. Once we have more information, we’ll be able to assist you further

Thank you for your response, kindly note:

    • shipping method used is Flat Rate ,also used a plug in named ”Table Rate Shipping for WooCommerce”which have alredy deactivated.
    • This is unknown,as potential customers just cancelled their orders after facing excessive shipping charges. So only for those who have sent a screen shot.
    • Ther is not a screen shot of the lately attempted transaction (£337),the potential customer cancelled it and sent my the info by e mail. After that,I suggested him to complete the transaction by sending a Paypal payment request ,this time with correct shipping charges which was completed.
    • Have saved available screen shots and ”system status report”on an external disck(did not find any fatal error logs) but could not attach them to this message, let me know which way to send them.Thank you .

    Hi @symkrilag,

Thanks for getting back to us.

Since you’re using Flat Rate, the next thing to check is whether the high amount is coming from one of the Flat Rate settings, shipping classes, or an older Table Rate configuration that may have affected how shipping was previously set up.

You can share the System Status Report by copying it from WooCommerce → Status → Get system report → Copy for support, then paste it into https://pastebin.com/ or https://gist.github.com/ and share the link here.

For the screenshots (shared via https://snipboard.io), please share:

    1. WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping → Shipping zones
    2. The specific shipping zone where the issue happens
    3. The Flat Rate settings inside that zone
    4. WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping → Shipping classes
    5. The product’s Shipping tab showing weight, dimensions, and assigned shipping class

Also, please try placing a test order yourself using the same product and destination as the customer, then check whether the £337 shipping charge appears again. If it does, please share a screenshot of the cart/checkout page showing the product, destination, and shipping charge.

Once we can see the shipping zone, Flat Rate, shipping class, and product shipping settings, we should be able to narrow down where that charge is coming from.

    Looking forward to your response.
