And what if you can’t edit directly from the snippet preview?
All sites I have tried this with do not allow it – the page title simply disappears and you only see the URL and Meta Description – both of which I can edit.
EDIT: Correction, I can edit a URL but for a home page it dumps /example-post/ on the end????
I have this problem too. Has anyone found why that would happen? Or how to correct it.
The front page meta description shows example-post at the end, but that post doesn’t exist.

Guys I am not able to edit my meta description for my home page as it is not a static page. How can i set a meta description for this, so that it shows up on Google with the meta description and not the whatever is written on my blog?

I have the same problem and I have had to deactivate the plugin.
Yeah… such a drag. I cleared my cache and was able to updated the meta description in the plug….
But I’m too getting the example-post add-on for my static home page.
I’m so disappointed… previous Yoast SEO releases were bulletproof quality.
Meta tags are all good (after clearing cache)
Unable to eliminate the example-post. Reverted back to previous Yoast SEO release for the time being.
