• Hi,

Using version 1.6.1 client has duplicated posts and updated SEO data but upon save it reverts to the slug of the original page. Showing the slug field in the post we can see it is the slug of the original post.

Updated to v1.7.4 with the same behavior. It goes like this:

    1. Edit post: permalink shows /charlotte/ but slug field shows olivia (olivia was the original post),
    2. Update post and permalink changes to /olivia-2/
    3. Change permalink back to /charlotte/ and slug to charlotte and Update -> permalink remain as /charlotte/ but slug reverts to olivia
    4. All the while multiple redirects are created pointing the original post to the new news permalink i.e. olivia->olivia-2, olivia->charlotte (x3)

When we deactivate the plugin it all saves correctly. Re-activate and the above behavior persists.

If i rename hte permalink and create a new page with titled ‘Charlotte’, the permalink becomes /charlotte/ and slug blank, until we update then slug changes to olivia (permalink remains).

I have searched for and looked through the database but i cannot find any reference to anything olivia within charlotte content and vise versa.

ANY help would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    James

  • Check to see if you have the “remove stop words” option selected, and uncheck/disable that. We had issues with this when redirecting content from old site to new, the 301 redirect didn’t work with the stopwords removed. Seems like good idea, but doesn’t seem to always work right.

Might not be your issue, but check that 🙂

Sounded promising, but unfortunately it didn’t solve it. Still the same 🙁

There are quite a number of other plugins on this site, and it uses Enfold with Avia. I did see a post with a similar issue (SEO loading from incorrect post AND changing slug), but i find the SEO content is ok. That was v1.5.5 though (http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/wordpress-seo-plugin-1-5-5-3-breaks-enfold-page-w/).

I just can’t figure out where the value of the slug field is coming from, and why it is different than the permalink. I thought maybe its coming from the original post that this one was cloned from? I can see that there are old slugs recorded in the page meta, i don’t suppose this plugin uses either of these or the original post?

    cheers
