• I have been working with this awesome plugin for about a year, and while I love it, I’ve had many problems with it. Right now when I fill a form and click send, the fields clear, the form does not send (no e-mails) and I get none of the messages that are setup (field is missing, message sent etc).

here is a test form I made on my site followed by some information:

    http://scienceeast.nb.ca/page-sorter/testcf7/

    site hosted by godaddy windows
    WP 4.3.1
    CF7 4.3

    auxiliary plugins:
    Contact Form 7 – PayPal Add-on
    Contact Form 7 Datepicker
    Contact Form DB (database)

    Things I’ve tried:
    1) disabling JQ through wp-contact-form-7.php using
    define( ‘WPCF7_LOAD_JS’, false)

    2) deactivating all auxiliary plugins

    3) deactivating/reactivating uninstalling/reinstalling CF7, and an older version (4.2)

    4) trying different browsers

    5) trying different operating systems

    6) pulling hair out and smashing keyboard 😀 (part 6 was the most fun)

I am not a developer, but am willing to entertain any suggestions. Thank you anyone that replies whether it helps or not!

  • Ok, if you have a spot for SMTP relay in CF7 settings, this’ll probably fix the issue 🙂

    relay-hosting.secureserver.net

@ifyouwillit that’s another great tip.. it’s nice having someone from GoDaddy here 🙂 But if GoDaddy users choose that option they must also update their SPF to indicate GoDaddy as the authorized sender… or there is a good chance their mail will get binned by the Big Three (Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo).

Obviously they can only update SPF on a domain they own.

Thank you for the help guys. I will try these solutions and keep you updated of how my website reacts to those changes. In the meantime, I should just add that I am also susceptible to the spinning arrow of death on CF7. Perhaps these 2 issues are related.

Lastly, does the AJAX thing on ninja forms give us any insight here (previous post)?

Here is a test page I opened to the public:

    http://scienceeast.nb.ca/page-sorter/testforms/

I tried removing e-mails from being sent from my CF7 form and it still does not work. I really do not think this thread should be about e-mails right now, because check-e-mail works fine.

Does anyone know how to use firebug well, cause I have been trying to learn but it’s a huge timesink and I cannot afford to do that on work hours. Family life makes it painfully slow to learn. I was hoping to debug javascript conflicts.

    Right now:
CF7 : spinning arrows of death

    Ninja forms (via ajax): success

    Ninja forms (normal): nothing

    Formidable Forms: nothing

To follow up on the e-mail suggestions. I tried sending mail with SMTP but google denied access. I am now updating the SPF but it sais 48 hours is expected for changes to propagate. Currently, Check e-mail is able to send e-mails using the following settings, as well as ninjaforms via ajax.

    Check Email
    Current mail settings
    SendMail path (UNIX):
    SMTP server (Windows): relay-hosting.secureserver.net
    SMTP port (Windows): 25
    Add X header: 1
    Send a test email
    Send test email to:
    Use standard headers
    MIME-Version: 1.0
    From: testemail@scienceeast.nb.ca
    Content-Type: text/plain; charset=”UTF-8″
    Use custom headers

I have the same problem. Any plugin I use, I do not receive any email from customers. What is very interested on mobile and tablet it works. 🙁

    So, where is the problem?

@ktulu22 – As per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic.

Posting in an existing topic and taking over the original posters question is generally considered inappropriate. Added to which, your problem – despite any similarity in symptoms – is likely to be completely different.

@ifyouwillit – thanks for helping out on this post.

    @buzztone. Sorry

I’m having the same issue on several websites, all different hosts. Any fix?

I am also having a problem. I am using godaddy. Used Contact Form 7 before many times. It is this new version. Installed Ninja Forms and worked the first time. Contact Form 7 won’t send email, despite appearing as though it is working. Success message appears.

@arconsulting If you get the success message, that indicates the email was sent.

CF7 : spinning arrows of death

@sciuser1 this means the ajax response was corrupted by server-side errors or there was a javascript conflict that broke the ajax. either way you should deactivate all your plugins and go back to the default WordPress theme and try your test again.

Any plugin I use, I do not receive any email from customers.

@ktulu22 than probably your email setup is wrong. here’s a couple articles to read:

I just deactivated all plugins but Contact Form 7 and then activated the Twenty Fifteen them and tried the plugin. Not working. It did work with Ninja Forms, which is now deactivated.

I apparently am not the only one. My other sites are working with Contact Form 7, but not this one. They have not been upgraded to the latest version of Contact Form 7. I believe that is the problem.

@ arconsuting, sorry but that is a different issue than the one this thread was intended for.

@ktulu22, mine do the exact same thing on mobile and every other browser I’ve tested, different 🙁

@jason hendricks, ifyouwillit, buzztone, thank you for your continued help!

@jason hendricks, if you see my first few posts, you will see that I’ve already deactivate all other plugins and gone to default theme 🙁 It seems like the culprit plugin does not “undo” the damage upon just deactivation or deletion. Something is left behind, the question is how to find that conflict?

    (@sciuser1)

It seems like once I click send, javascript does something before it even processes the form like reloading the page, or attempting to do so, and the form does not reach processing. Even if I don’t fill out required fields, the forms will still just be reset and the messages that should give me a warning that the fields aren’t filled do not appear.
