I have the proposal ready to go but the only way I can preview it is to be logged in to WP and set the status to Draft. If I publish it I can no longer preview it or use the permalink. If not logged in, using the permalink for the proposal gives a Page not found error regardless of whether the status is Draft or Published.

I’d like to test it and have a co-worker look it over in it’s published state before sending it. What is the correct way to do that and then to send it to the client?

    Thanks.

    Hey Keith,

I would try the two following things and it should fix your issue.

    1. Flushing your Permalinks. To do this go to Settings>Permalinks. Scroll down and hit save changes.

    2. Make sure your permalink settings are set to Post Name.

Let me know if that worked!

    Best,
    Kevin.

    Hi Kevin,

It looks like flushing did the trick. It was already set to Post Name. I had tried purging caches but I guess it doesn’t affect the permalinks.

If possible, please delete the link I included in my original message.

    Thanks.

Hello, I am not able to send a proposal link either, and I have done what was advised above.

    Hey Keith,

I am glad that worked! I am working on an update this weekend that will fix the permalink auto flush bug when you first install the plugin so it will help other user. It will also include some UI improvements and new features.

If either of you have any feedback for the plugin I would love to hear it so I can include it in the update.

    Coboxnyc,

Are you receiving a 404 error or what exactly do you mean by send the proposal link? Right now there is no internal solution to send the link to the client. However, this feature will be available in the pro-version once it is done and we get enough feedback from users.

    Keith,

I forgot to mention in the previous post that unfortunately after 35 minutes you’re unable to edit post on the WordPress forums. The only way to delete the post or lonk is to contact a WordPress Moderator which you can use the link below which explains it a little more.

    Best,

when a proposal link is used by a visitor or any one not logged in, it redirects them to my login page.

If you make a pro version, i would totally support it. this proposal is almost a total dream come true, and to see it was released just a few days ago is even more incredible….

good job on making something that can seem so complicated, feel so simple.

    Hey Coboxnyc,

Thank you so much for the kind words! We initially built a proposal plugin to use internally, but we saw that there was nothing on the market for other agencies like us. That’s when decided to make a more customizable version and release it to the public. You wouldn’t believe the difference with conversions of landing projects!

As for your redirect issue I think I know what the issue is but since I am not able to duplicate it on my end I may have to have you try something for me. If you don’t want to touch any code feel free to create a temp. admin account for your website and send over the login details to contact@wpcodeus.com and I will do some debugging.

    Instructions:

    1. Once logged in and at the dashboard go to Plugins>Plugin Editor.
    2. Click the dropdown and select WP Proposals.
    3. Navigate to include>plugin-functions.php.
    4. On line 47 change the Rewrite rule from true to false. It should look like this once done: “rewrite” => array( “slug” => “proposal”, “with_front” => false ),
    5. Save your changes and flush your premalinks and that should fix your issue.

Please let me know if that worked and I will also include that in the update I am working on this weekend.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Hey Coboxnyc,

I haven’t heard anytime back for a few days but I just wanted to check in to see if the solution above worked for you? If it did I would like to include the change in the next update.

    Best,
