Thanks for your reply, but the solution that is suggested (switching off other plugins and switching to the default theme), is not really helpful, because that means my website is not functional anymore. And I didn’t have this problem before, so maybe you have another solution?
I have the same problem for a couple of sites (they worked in the past very well with cf7).
I see inside the inspector these 404 errors
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found)
http://www.somedomain.nl/wp-json/contact-form-7/v1/contact-forms/77369/refill
Note also that the website is running on HTTPS
Strange is that happens not in every browser

Olaf Lederer. Reason: The site isn't loaded over https
Same thing here, same 404 message in the console…
Happens since the last update.
Mine solved. Just rolled back to 4.7.4 version. But first backup all your contact form then deactivated and uninstall the current version, 4.8. Go to https://wordpress.org/plugins/contact-form-7/advanced/ and select version 4.7. This is just temporary until the latest is fixed. Try it : )
I would like to try this @imhaikal , but how can I backup my contact forms?
