Self-hosted blog redirecting to wordpress.com

    I purchased my domain from wordpress.com, and have successfully uploaded it to my server (hostgator), however when I login to the admin panel I am redirected to wordpress.com (no plugins etc). I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times to no avail. Why would it be doing this?

    You need to change the DNS at wordpress.com as they are registrar of domain name to point to your hostgator server.

    You will need log in wordpress.com account and find where to change or ask in wordpress.com forum.

    usually you should see something like dns1.yourdomain.com &/or dns2.blahblah.com …not exactly sure what wordpress dns looks like, but it will be roughly the same always.

    e.g. purchased domain from go daddy

    dns1.godaddy.com

    purchased hosting from hostgator

    dns1.hostgator.com is what it needs to be
