Security vulnerability issue below version 4.3.0

    Hello, recently we received an email from the Elementor Team detailing a security vulnerability issue on version 4.3.0 and 4.3.1 and urge all users to update to 4.3.2. I want to ask does this issue also exist on versions below 4.3.0?

    We have a website with Elementor version 4.2.4 and Elementor Pro 3.7.1 that we prefer not to update to the latest version due to the need to extensively overhaul the website’s appearance if we make the updates. I understand it is recommended to update the plugins, but unfortunately at this time the overall decision is to keep the plugins at their current version until we can dedicate time and resources to adjust any changes to the website’s appearance.

    Hi,

    Thank you for reaching out. The security vulnerability addressed in Elementor 4.3.2 specifically affects versions 4.3.0 and 4.3.1, so it does not affect versions below 4.3.0, such as your current Elementor 4.2.4.

    That said, we always recommend keeping Elementor and Elementor Pro updated to the latest compatible versions whenever possible. Updates not only introduce new and improved features, but also include bug fixes, security improvements, and other changes that are not available in older versions.

    We understand that updating an existing site can sometimes require additional testing, especially when the site has been heavily customized. If you are concerned about changes to the live site, we recommend first creating a staging copy and performing the updates there. You can then review the site’s appearance and functionality and address any compatibility issues before considering the update on the live site.

    For the same reason, we also recommend keeping a current backup available before performing updates on a production site.
