Sections not appearing
-
I am trying to create sections but they keep disappearing from the sections list and when I try to organize my menu it says I do not have any sections.

Hi @davidmz,
Do your Menu Sections have Menu Items assigned to them? You can go to Menus > Menu Sections to see a list of all of your sections. In the table, there should be a column for Count, which will tell you how many Menu Items have been assigned.
You’ll need to have at least one Menu Item assigned to a Menu Section before it will appear in the Menu.
You can find a quick run-down of the process of creating a menu in the help guide here:

If that doesn’t address the problem you’re having, let me know in more detail and I’ll see if I have any ideas of what might be the problem.
Hi Nate,
Thanks for responding. The issue isn’t just that the menu sections aren’t appearing in the menu. They are disappearing after I put them into the menu sections section. The same thing happens when I try to assign an item to a section. The section tag will disappear the moment I refresh the page. This is really bizarre and I’m not exactly sure what to do about it.
Hi @davidmz,
So just to be clear, we’re talking about the Menu Layout panel on the Menu page that’s shown in this screenshot, right?

If I understand properly, you are dragging and dropping a Menu Section into one of the columns on the right. But this then jumps back to the left column when you refresh the page. Is that right?
If so, are you saving the menu before you refresh the page? Once you’ve moved your Menu Sections into place, you’ll need to hit the blue Save or Publish button which appears at the top right of the page here:

no I am talking about the Menu sections page. When I try to create a section and then I refresh the page it disappears.
Hi @davidmz,
The plugin actually uses the standard WordPress taxonomy page for this, with no custom behaviour at all. A couple things to check:
1. Are you clicking the Add New Menu Section button here?
2. Do you have enough Menu Sections that it’s going to multiple pages? The way this page works is, when you click Add New Menu Section, it will appear at the top. But when you refresh the page, it will appear sorted alphabetically by name. You may have to use the Search Menu Sections tool at the top right to find it.
I have added multiple sections and refreshed the page and they still disappear
Hi @davidmz,
Can you provide a screenshot of your Menu Sections page and let me know the name of a Menu Section you’ve added but which doesn’t appear?
Hi @davidmz,
That’s very strange. My plugin actually doesn’t control the behaviour on this page in any way. It’s all core WordPress code. Are you able to add Categories and Tags for posts from their respective pages?
If you’d like to reach out to me via the contact form on my site, you’ll then have my email address and you can give me an Editor user account on your site. I can then hop in and see if I spot anything off.
My first guess would be that there’s something breaking the ajax request on this page. But it’s likely that whatever it is would also break the Categories and Tags pages too.
