Can you follow this link: https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/register_nav_menus to register the new menu location for your site and use this function: https://developer.wordpress.org/reference/functions/wp_nav_menu/ to display the menu for your site? You can use duplicate the header.php file within the child theme folder and then, utilize the display of menu function, ie, https://developer.wordpress.org/reference/functions/wp_nav_menu/ where ever you need the menu to get displayed within your site. Hope you can now follow as we suggested to achieve the feature which you require for your site.
