Seating chart

You’re right, and thanks for flagging it. The Seating Charts page in our docs described a separate “Events > Seating Charts” menu and a drag-and-drop layout builder that were never in the plugin. That page was written ahead of the feature and not corrected. That’s on us. Here is how seating works:

1. Go to Events > Settings > Advanced and turn on “Enable seating chart management”.
2. Edit a venue. The “Seating Chart” box you found is the whole builder: add a section, set rows and seats per row, and optionally a Price +/- for that section.
3. Pick that venue on your event. The seat picker then shows on the event page and on the linked ticket product page, and the chosen seats are saved on the order and printed on the ticket.

While checking this, we also found that seat holds and the section price adjustment didn’t work in 1.0.0. Version 1.0.1 fixes both. A seat is held for 15 minutes as soon as a customer clicks it, seats stay held for unpaid orders, a seat someone else took is rejected at add to cart, and the Price +/- is added in the cart. The update is already pushed to WordPress.org and will show up in your dashboard once it clears the short cooldown WordPress.org applies to every release.

What’s still not in the plugin: seat categories with colors, general admission sections, accessible or companion seats, curved rows, and moving seats between orders. Sections with a Price +/- cover the common “VIP costs more” case.
