Relevanssi doesn’t really have an opinion on how the results are displayed, so with Relevanssi, you have to do that yourself anyway. Relevanssi can search shortcode content.
Relevanssi only returns results, and doesn’t care about how they are displayed – that is all up to your theme.
of course.
So you mean I could search for “all posts containing a shortcode with vimeo character string inside” ? That would be enough for me.
Relevanssi is a full-text search, so it’s best used for searching for posts that contain particular text. It requires a search term, so Relevanssi does not work well for cases where you want to select a certain subset of posts, without having a search term.
It’s fairly easy to make Relevanssi find all posts that include a Vimeo shortcode when you search for “vimeo” or something like that, but just selecting Vimeo posts without a search term involved gets too complicated, something else is a better tool for that.
thanks for your answer.
but “searching for vimeo” can be included under a button. I didn’t mean that there wouldn’t be a “real” search.
I’ll try to dig it.
Maybe https://searchwp.com fits better my need. I’m not sure, btw.
Well, it’s probably something that can be done with Relevanssi, but will require some custom hacking, it’s definitely not an out-of-the-box solution.
