Search results for orders are messed up

Since updating to the latest version of Woocommerce, I can’t properly search for orders any more when I go to “WooCommerce – Orders” and then use the search bar in the top right corner.

Everytime I search for a last name or an order number, it displays each result at roughly 50x multiple. Below is a screenshot where I searched for the last name of a customer who made 1 order. His order is being displayed 54 times in the search results. For customers who ordered twice in our store, their search results are being displayd roughly 100 times.

If I go to Woocommerce – Orders to get an overview of all orders, everything is displayed fine. Only the search results are being displayed at 50x scale.

After the update I also installed the new Woocommerce Admin Plugin and imported all orders. Maybe that has something to do with it? However, I already deactivated and deleted the plugin and all new orders that came in afterwards are affected by the same error as well.

Maybe somebody here experienced the same issue and can help. I would highly appreciate it!

Hi there,

I’ve tested this on a clean installation and can’t replicate this and we haven’t seen any other reports of this. This kind of problem is usually caused by either a conflict with another plugin.

The best way to determine this is to:

Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

Hello Himbaer, were you able to figure out what is the cause of this and did you resolved it? I am seeing this issue on my client’s WooCommerce as well but it seem to have only occurred recently for them.

Has anyone else encountered this? We run quite a few WooCommerce plugins so I need to do some thorough troubleshooting on a staging website. If anyone can shed some light on this that’d be great, thank you!
