Search is dead
-
I just downloaded this and installed it and kept default settings. In a post, I click the Pixabay button, type in a search and click. Nothing happens, nothing at all. I’ve tried various searches, but nothing happens.

I believe, this is getting fixed in version 2.10, which should be available as of tonight. A test version can be found here:

I have the same problem, and the new version doesn’t solve it….
Also, I see in screenshots that there’s supposed to be some kind of menu on the left side of the Pixabay popup (Insert gallery, Create gallery and so on)? I don’t see that on my screen.
Also I don’t see any error message in the developers console…
Is that happening on Internet Explorer only? Could you try Chrome or Firefox?
That’s really strange. We already have a few test system and it works like a charm in all of them with version 2.10.
By now I suspect Divi theme (builder) is conflicting. I’ve tried other plugins (dreamstime and photodropper) and both of them also have some kind of problem.
I’ve contacted Elegant Themes so hopefully it will be fixed some time soon….
It’s happening in Internet Explorer, Chrome, and Firefox. I’m using Jolene theme, if that helps. I’m not having a problem with any of my other plug-ins.
I’d really love to fix this, but without any clues, it’s hard to find the cause. Does your browser console say anything – maybe a JavaScript error? You can see the console by pressing F12.
It’s hard to fix such issues without seeing them; maybe we’re lucky with the latest bug fixes. The plugin works properly on my test systems in all modern browsers; Internet Explorer version 10 or above is required, though. So, it won’t work on IE9 or IE8.
Still not working in FF 39, IE 11, and Chrome 44.
I can’t say that I know what I’m doing here, but pressing F12 in IE as you say, I get this: On Debugger tab>media-upload.php I’m getting an error on line 182 saying “Object expected”.In Chrome, I get more errors: media-upload.php?post_id=487&tab=pixabaytab:183 Uncaught TypeError: undefined is not a function
media-upload.php?post_id=487&tab=pixabaytab:189 Uncaught TypeError: undefined is not a functionHope this helps.
I’m now running WP 4.2.3, Jolene theme 1.1.4, Pixabay Images plugin 2.12. The plugin is still not working on the “Pixabay Images” tab. The other tabs seem to work fine, but absolutely nothing happens when running a search on the “Pixabay Images” tab.
Besides the errors I’ve already mentioned, FF Console tab gives this:
TypeError: $ is not a function media-upload.php:184:35
TypeError: $ is not a function media-upload.php:190:20 (2 Repeats)
TypeError: $ is not a function media-upload.php:183:37Hi Peter,
currently this seems to be the only known issue. All other reported bugs appear to be fixed with the latest version. So, it looks a lot like it’s something very specific to your system. Have you tried cleaning all caches? Does your server use caching?
I found a similar problem: After installing the plugin give https://wordpress.org/plugins/give/ Pixabay search stops working an shows the following errors
Uncaught TypeError: $ is not a function media-upload.php?post_id=1990&tab=pixabaytab:277 (anonymous function) @ media-upload.php?post_id=1990&tab=pixabaytab:277 Uncaught TypeError: $ is not a function media-upload.php?post_id=1990&tab=pixabaytab:283 (anonymous function) @ media-upload.php?post_id=1990&tab=pixabaytab:283 m.event.dispatch @ load-scripts.php?c=1&load[]=jquery-core,jquery-migrate,utils,plupload,plupload-handlers&ver=4.3.1:4 r.handle @ load-scripts.php?c=1&load[]=jquery-core,jquery-migrate,utils,plupload,plupload-handlers&ver=4.3.1:4I got an answer from the author of the give plugin. He did not find the complete reason but made a suggestion to temporarily solve the problem: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/possibly-conflict-with-pixabay-plugin?replies=2
Could you please have a look and see if this helps you to finally solve the issue? Thank you in advance! The Problem still exists in the new Version 2.14.
Hi konus77, I must have missed your original post. I’ll look into it tomorrow and will probably release a fixed version. Although seemingly it’s a very rare problem. Thanks, Simon
Hi konus77,
I’ve just uploaded an adapted version that should work for you. However, since the error is rare, I didn’t increase the version number. So, you’ll have to update your plugin manually. Hope it works for you now 🙂
Cheers, Simon
