Search does not work from other URLs

Hi,
I have a wordpress blog at http://www.zhamid.ca/blog. I also have my website at http://www.zhamid.ca (I understand that I could have achieved same look and feel with using “pages”, but for various reasons that approach isn’t desirable).

I have everything the way I want, except that search only works from http://www.zhamid.ca/blog. When I use it from any other page (eg. http://www.zhamid.ca) then it just gets redirected to the blog site. How do I fix it? Does search code look at the referring URL? If so then where is the code? Thanks.
