    Hi

I’m just following up on something that has been bugging me for a long time and I’d like to know if anything can be done or checked to determine the problem. Basically this program worked fine when first installed then over a period of time I got the invalid signature messages. It there any way to determine what is causing it.

Also I have another security program running which definitely does block ip’s for me in terms of bots and spiders etc. So I’m wondering why Wordfence isn’t picking up they are being blocked even if it is by a different program.

Any info on resolving the matter would be appreciated and I have had a look at other posts on the matter and the adivce did not reslove the first issue.

    Regards

    Alena

Hi @lipcrack, thanks for reaching out with your scan log.

I’ve recently seen “The signature on the request to start a scan is invalid” when also running a plugin called Loginizer for another customer recently. That may not be the same as the plugin you’re running alongside Wordfence but thought I’d mention it just in case.

They diagnosed this by disabling their other plugins one-by-one until the Wordfence scan started working again, so you could try the same thing to see if it can be narrowed down. In that case, the customer disabled the other plugin, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t an allowlist or other configurable solution where both plugins can run together.

If you don’t have the plugin mentioned above, or your process of elimination doesn’t seem to help, you can send a diagnostic to wftest @ wordfence . com directly from the link at the top of the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

NOTE: It should look as follows – Screenshot of Tools > Diagnostic > Send by Email

    Thanks,
    Peter.
