After I import a table it displays on my website, but I am unable to save any changes in the dashboard. Here is a screenshot of the error:

I’ve tried holding down SHIFT as instructed, but then I receive the following error:

    My details:

    • I am using the latest version of WordPress (4.6)
    • I am using the latest version of TablePress (1.7)
    • I am using Google Chrome with all extensions disabled
    • I receive the same errors using Internet Explorer
    • I have disabled all WP plug-ins (except TablePress)
    • I have switched to WordPress default theme TwentySixteen
    • I have set WP_DEBUG to true in my wp-config.php file

Please help, any advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

The “Forbidden” in this error message indicates a server issue. Most likely, there’s a security extension, like Suhosin or mod_security for Apache installed that is configured very strictly. It apparently doesn’t like something about the HTTP request that is performed to save the table and only returns a 403 Forbidden error instead of passing the request to PHP/WordPress/TablePress.
Unfortunately, there’s nothing that I can do about this. You will have to contact your web host support team and ask them to take a look at the corresponding log file and then relax those security settings.

    Regards,
    Tobias

Following up: the issue was exactly what you thought it was. I contacted my hosting provider and they replied:

Upon investigating the issue we had found that a mod-secerity rule was triggering while saving the changes. We have now disabled mod-security for your domain and we were then able to successfully save the changes that were made in tablepress

It now works. Thanks again for your assistance!

    Hi,

awesome! Great to hear that this could be resolved now! Yes, such a mod_security rule is exactly what I meant.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!
