“Save” button in Loco Translate does not work
-
I created new translation and have chosen wp-content/languages/loco/ for destination folder. When I translate particular line of text and press “Save” button, the button changes as like it is saving in the background, but it lasts forever and do not save anything. It seems like something is blocked.
The same thing happens if I want to edit already existing translation in Author folder.
What can be wrong?

I tried with Twenty Fourteen, Fifteen and Sixteen and everything works fine! I tried
Them means that something with my Theme is wrong. I use Boss theme (http://www.buddyboss.com/), and it is switched into Boss Child theme. Also I use Learndash plugin (https://www.learndash.com/) and it also does not save Loco translations. Can you please help!
MarioI can’t help you debug problems introduced by commercial themes.
If you want help with a particular theme, please post a free download link to it. Without this I cannot simply guess what your problem is.
I just sent download links on ttp://localise.biz/ contact form.
I hope this will work.
Thank you very much for assistance.
MarioI have no problems creating and saving new languages from
boss.potor fromlearndash.pot.Please provide exact steps to reliably reproduce your problem.
I go to: WP>Dashboard>Loco Translate>Plugins>LearnDash LMS, then I chose [New Language]. Then I choose first radio button, and on drop-down menu I choose German language. Then on the location menu, I choose second radio button in order to avoid deletion upon plugin upgrade: languages/loco/plugins/learndash-de_DE.po
Then I click [Start Translation] button. The translation user interface appears.
Then, for test purposes I make only one change in one random line of translation.
The “star” appears on the left side of the line which indicates that the change has been made, then I try to “Save”, but save button starts to spin around without ending. After a 10 minutes it stops and inform me about an error. (please see attached picture)You mentioned .pot files, but I see only .po & .mo files. Maybe I am doing something wrong!

These are the steps I took and they don’t produce an error for me. I have your theme enabled too.
After a 10 minutes it stops and inform me about an error
Your screengrab conveys no useful information. I believe you that the button keeps spinning. You mention there is an error – perhaps posting that is more useful?
You mentioned .pot files, but I see only .po & .mo files
When you add a new language, it is created from the POT file.
Oh, I see that the source file is .po file…
Error message is: Error: Service Unavailable
This problem drives me crazy.Do you think that it might help if I send to you link for /wp-admin login and pass for my web site?
You can’t mess up anything because this is site where we practice implementation before we make thise changes on live version.-

This error will never be thrown from my plugin. I cannot begin to guess at what part of your system is doing so, but I’ve already made suggestions as to how you can narrow that down.
The advice I gave in my first reply suggests you try to view the raw output of the failed response. This may contain vital clues as to what part of your system is invoking the error.
Regarding your last question – no I do not offer this level of personal technical support.
Hi, I have the exact same problem, I have LearnDash installed but I was translating a normal theme that is designed for LearnDash, it was working perfect but suddenly stopped, here are some useful info:

Thanks.
Nothing is returned from the ajax request
Nothing? The fact you see “Unknown Error” means the server did respond.
The information you’ve provided is the request, as I’ve said in this thread, I need to see the response. Please post the response. If the body is empty, then just post the headers. Also, please start a new thread as there is no guarantee you have the exact same issue and it’s confusing addressing multiple people in one thread.
Hi, I’m seeing an “Unknown Error” message. Console throws the following: “Provide the following text when reporting a problem: –8<–“. Can you help me with this please?
