sandbox no workie :(

I’m trying to get woocommerce to work and starting to hit a wall. Hope someone can give me some guidance…
My first problem was at the checkout, under “Your Order”, the woocommerce-checkout-payment section was missing. After searching around a while, I came across a 2013 blog that suggested removing the review-order.php from woocommerce/templates/checkout folder. Ok, sounded kind of out there, but renamed the file, and lo and behold, I got this after “Your Order”: Link To “Sign Up Now”. “Sign up Now” seemed like strange choice of words… should have been “Pay Now”?

Anyway, hitting that “Sign up Now” button, takes me (I was hoping to the page that you enter the (sandbox) credit card number) to the payment page, but the only thing I see there is one line showing the test item I just ‘bought’, but nothing else. No fields to enter the credit card information. The URL to this page looks like this, ../wordpress/checkout/order-pay/148/?key=wc_order_5539c332474d6 Does that look right? And what I see is:Item ordered

So what piece am I missing to show the rest of this page to enter the card info and complete the test transaction?

I have the sanbox keys created for a hosted payment setup, btw…
