• Hello, I heard wp has special forum scripts (mini phpbb or something)
Anyway is that possible to have that blog reader registers his nickname to post comments/vote etc and with the same registration he gets his forum username as well?

  • I’ve heard that bbPress (developed by WordPress) has this functionality. Just one amongst a few other choices.

Good, thats what I need, but I don’t really like the layout of the forum 🙁
I need it to be “regular” style like vbull, phpbb, simplemachines, mybb etc etc
So what are the few other choices?

Not being an expert on the scripts available, the keyword I’ve searched for is ‘integration’.

Bearing in mind I have not personally tested any forum integration plugins, this one seems to be the best in terms of offering a ‘regular’ or ‘standard’ forum layout (no idea about it’s functionality):

    Simple:Press Forum (http://www.stuff.yellowswordfish.com/simplepress-forum/)

However, for people who are thinking of a paid bridge for IPB, there does seem to be this option too.
    Invision Bridge (http://www.invisionbridge.com/)

Both (and others) were found through a quick Google search for forum+wordpress integration. A search using a specific forum name with wordpress might be more useful, such as phpBB. However, I do know that for MyBB, the only bridge available (oh yes, bridge is another keyword :D) is not being actively maintained at the moment. You can do a search on the MyBb forum for it though.

p/s: A more friendly tone might encourage a few more replies 😉 I’m getting the impression that I’m reporting to some ‘boss’ here with my ‘findings’ 😛
