S2Member 'set up password' link

I have S2member working through Paypal, payments are being taken correctly, new member set up in S2Member and new member receives an email with a link to click on to set up their password.
When they click (even if its within seconds of receipt and paying) the link goes to a page that says that it has expired.
Can someone tell me where this has gone wrong and how to extend the time the password is viable for.
