Running WordPress Import tool generates fast CGI Error

    I am trying to export a blog from wordpress.com and import it into a wordpress installation on my own website.

    Export appears to work correctly.

    The installation of the WP Importer (v .2) appears to work correctly.

    When I try to run the importer, I get a FastCGI Error.

    FastCGI Error
    The FastCGI Handler was unable to process the request.

    Error Details:

    * The FastCGI process exited unexpectedly
    * Error Number: -2147467259 (0x80004005).
    * Error Description: Unspecified error

    HTTP Error 500 – Server Error.
    Internet Information Services (IIS)
