Running the wordpress install script

    I’m right at the start of using WordPress. I’ve got a domain name and a webhost service. I’ve uploaded the wordpress files to the root directory. My book tells me to type this into the address window of my browser: http://velovoyager.id.au/wp-admin/install.php (note that I’ve put my actual domain name in there). But I get the dreaded HTTP 404 – File not found.

    Can anyone help me out….?

    See if the following video on installing WordPress helps…note, if you don’t have Cpanel, then just use FTP to upload the source code.

    Thank you very much figaro, but I had done all the things the video said to do. At the point where I enter the domain name/wp-admin/install.php into my browser, I get the 404 message. I’ve logged a support call with my web host – I guess I’ll have to see what they say.
