• Hi David,

Happy New Year! and it’s time to refresh all the events.

I started using RSVP Events templates and discovered a couple of things that don’t appear to be in your documentation.

There are rules on naming templates? Apparently using anything other than alpha characters in the template name causes problems with Custom CSS.

I am still confused about the page content with templates. I can put my page text in the template but the page shows a blank when called from the calendar or the menu. Does one have to duplicate the content in the template and on the page?

I like to add -more- on the listing of events below the calendar to keep the listing shorter. This works on close-in future events but not on events further out in time (the full event page detail is listed rather than just the text above the “-more-“) How does that work?

Can’t imagine why the template name would have anything to do with custom CSS. What would be an example of a title where you’re seeing that issue.

When you do create / update from a template, all the individual events created on the basis of the template contain the same post content and also inherit the same meta data (with the exception of a few template-specific values). Or at least, they ought to.

I haven’t experimented with using the more tag in an event post. Will have to look into that.
