• Hi
I have put a list of RSS feeds into my website. (news from another website).
When clicking on one of the links, it opens up in the same window, my websites window, and i dont want that.

    – Where do i change this, so the link opens up in a new window, or in a new tab? (in wich file do i have to make changes)

(The list of RSS-feeds are created by using the RSS Widget)

    Please help!
    Regards

  • You cannot do this without modifying WordPress core files – and this is something you should never, ever, do. You might want to look around for a more suitable RSS feed plugin.

    Thanks for a fast answer!

So next question: Anyone that have a good idea wich plugin to use?

Ok i have tried different plugins but cant find one that does what i want.

I cant be the only one that wants to have the RSS-plugin to open links in a new window?

I have tried to add “target=”_blank” in a href, in the rss.php file, but it doesnt do the trick.
Can someone help me? I am not afraid of changes in the core WP-files, as long as its just a small change on one row or so.
But if it takes changes in a lot of files, its bad of course.

    Has someone got an answer?

    Regards

I tried the “Simple-RSS-feeds-widget” but it makes my website to crash when using 5-6 different feeds. Bad, i got it to open in a new window, and i was happy until it crashed… 🙁

Again, anyone who has a sollution how to open the original WP RSS-feeds links in a new window?
