RSS feeds not working

I’m seeing 2 blank lines before:

<?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″?>

Using validator.w3.org I am getting:

Line 3, Column 5: XML declaration allowed only at the start of the document
<?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″?>

Switching themes do not seem to help, all plugins disabled, and looking for spaces or extra line feeds is pretty difficult not knowing which file to really edit or what to look for. I’m new to wordpress so any help would be appreciated.
