RSS Feed onto blog page?
-
Don’t laugh at me now.
But I have been working at it for about 3 hours and still can’t figure out how to get an RSS Feed sign and link onto my blog.
What should I try?
Thank you.

Isn’t there something simple? I mean, I could study this for a week or so in between everything I do. I read half the page and have about 10 questions. 1. What should I choose rdf rrf rf2 etc. 2. Do I really want to “customize”? All I want is that simple orange symbol you always see on pages so my readers can get the comments somehow. I’ve never used rss before. I did read the articles but all of it doesn’t “stick”.
3. I just want to slap a button (the commonly recognized orange symbol) on my page so people can get the feeds. 4. Do I need to study it up some more? Isn’t there a ***simple*** way to do this, for ***simple*** people?I mean, I am writing my own websites using html and css code and have studied javascript so I’m no dummie but when it comes to rss feeds I’m a newbie.
Also, I noticed that this page has an RSS Feed symbol on it, top right. I clicked on it. I came to a page of code. Is this what my readers will experience? How do you use this code? Oh, I’m sure I have to have a reader first. So, I download one of the rss readers and then it makes it possible for me to easily read RSS Feeds. True?
Maybe my problem is that I should have been an RSS Feed reader first.

That is because you are using Chrome. It has no built in reader.
oh thanks. I remember reading that somewhere. It takes time for all this information to sink in. Its a lot of stuff.
So, you are saying I need to study to understand all this stuff before I can put up a simple RSS Feed sign on my blog and have it work for people? Can it be that complicated?
Can this really be true?
And, should I be calling this “customizing”?
Isn’t it a simple matter of placing it on the page and hooking it up somehow?
There are all these widgets and things . . .
Yes, it is simple. Your feed is your url/feed or one of these others http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Feeds#Finding_Your_Feed_URL
You can get the rss image to use off any site that has it if your theme does not. Then you just link that image to your feed url.
I went to widgets and used one of those links where it said to enter the URL — I guess I entered the wrong thing last time. I just wrote the URL to the blog site last time.
And then I used Firefox to check it and I found the image on my blog page when I opened it up. Only thing, it is so far down on the right hand side I’m afraid someone might not see it. I wish I could put it up higher.
But when I clicked on the RSS Feed symbol, a web page opened and I could see the post I had entered on the blog, the only post that was there. So it looks like it is working.
So, thank you! It’s just these little things you don’t know that hold you up.
