    Hi,

I hope someone can help here please.

Here is my blog URL: http://www.inetseo.co.uk/blog/

However, when you try and clock on the RSS feed, I get this message and don’t know why.

“This page contains the following errors:

error on line 2 at column 6: XML declaration allowed only at the start of the document
Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.”

Can anyone tell me why please?

    Cheers,

    Andy

  • Hi,

I would switch back to default theme and see if it works. If it doesn’t try to disable plugins.

Let me know if it works

No – this hasn’t worked – I have a different theme and the same error 🙁

You have a blank line before your doctype coming up in your source code.

Could be coming from a plugin, your theme, etc…

there are a few different solutions depending on what is causing it. After trying with default theme, and with plugins inactive, if still not fixed just search the form for “rss blank line” and try out the solutions previously posted

    OK will do thanks 🙂

I’m actually experiencing the same problem on my blog: http://mrwebwriter.com/

I pinpointed the problem to the current theme I’m using.

I can see in the source code of the RSS file that there is in fact a blank line at the top of the document. My problem is that I’m not sure how to remove that blank line.

Just found 2 blank lines at the end of my theme’s function.php file. My RSS feed is now working properly.
