I administer a WordPress site and want to implement an independent forum script (Perl CGI script) from the site. My host says that’s impossible — that WordPress takes control of any file under the domain name, and won’t implement independent scripts.
Is there any way to get around this? One thing I thought of is to just get another domain, and link to it when implementing the script. The problem is, we want to retain the WordPress registration process so that folks that have registered can post on the forum without having to re-register.
Problem is site owner is not happy with any of the WordPress-compatible forum widgets. Thanks for any help!
