  • Messages submitted by webhooks are not user-owned, they cannot have roles, the bot account is only needed to manage the Webhook. Since the messages themselves don’t come from a user, they cannot be assigned roles, given a name color, etc.

What I mean is simply put if a user is admin role on site then that admin role or permissions are also within discord

That’s largely out of scope for this plugin. Plus the bot’s permission/role level shouldn’t be above that of your actual admins, so it’s not capable of managing admin permissions.

With all due respect, “Out of the scope of this plugin” applies to any new feature request. This is a Discord plugin for WordPress; any Discord related interaction for WordPress is a logical candidate for inclusion. Additionally, the user only posed an example scenario to help convey the use scenario, not a literal situation.

What brings me here is the same thing. I have a community that uses Discord, a site built on WordPress, and I want a user in a group on WordPress automatically assigned to a corresponding role on Discord. This is a handy feature, due to Discords relatively lax permission system and for cutting down on administrative work. There are no current WordPress plugins that address this feature, so I think its also a worthy inclusion for a Discord plugin, and humbly add my request in with the OP’s. I use a similar plugin currently with IPBoard and its very useful to us. You can find its repository here if it helps: https://github.com/ABSAhmad/IpsDiscordIntegration

Thanks for any consideration you give our request.
