    Yes, another plugin can absolutely overwrite roles — this is a common cause of capabilities reverting after saving.

    The quickest way to confirm is to temporarily disable all other plugins except Members, then try saving your capabilities again. If they stick, you’ll know something else on your site is resetting them.

    Once you’ve tested that, let us know what you find and we can help track down the specific plugin causing the conflict.
