    Hello,

How come your company doesn’t check these companies that upload pluggins? I recently got ripp off by HDFLVPLAYER.net

When you download their demo it has a demo logo on it so I decided to buy the license which allows you to remove the demo sign. It turns out that after numerous attempts to contact them they respond with the same solution that do NOT work.

They got me for $49.99 and what’s sad is that its not a US company–to complain on the better business forum. SO this is my analogy, foreign companies come here ripp people off, you don’t care because its only 1 out of 100 and you close your eyes because you are making millions to care about one person.

But here’s my analogy, You are a US based company that has to keep a good character in the US and I can complain and get the word that that YOUR company is ALLOWING these companies to come here and RIPP people off. By tomorrow its not going to matter anyway because most probably you will erase this email but heres the thing…IF you do, thats karma for ya.

Best wishes in continue to allow those foreign co. take advantage of US citizens.

    Take care,

    Victor

  • There is no “company” here. This is a community of volunteers – and an open source one at that. Sadly there are those who try to use the community’s resources to host less-than-ethical themes or plugins. Whilst efforts are made (and are being continually being developed) to guard against this happening, no system is ever 100% effective and some “bad” plugins do get through. On a positive note, most themes and plugins have been freely developed and donated by ethical individuals who simply wish to contribute to the community.

I’m sorry if you feel that you have been let down by a commerical plugin and/or its company. If you have a complaint about one of the plugins hosted in the wordpress.org Plugin Directory, please direct your complaints to plugins@wordpress.org. Otherwise, I can only suggest that you continue to communicate with the company that you bought the commercial version from. We cannot do anything about commercial plugins.

Reading these posts is very often like talking to my customers on the phone at the call center I work at. It makes me want to slam my head into a wall until I pass out.

It turns out that after numerous attempts to contact them they respond with the same solution that do NOT work

You said you paid $50 to remove the “demo”. The above comment makes it sound like you’re having an issue with the plugin and can’t get any support for it. Did that $50 cover support also? Even if WordPress was a company (which it is not), why would it be responsible for making sure you receive the support/etc you paid for from another company? In your way of thinking, if you bought a toaster from Wal-mart and the toaster manufacturer wouldn’t repair the toaster within the warranty, this would be Wal-marts fault?

    Head. Wall. Zzzzzz.
